PopCap Games launches Bookworm for mobile

Tools

Casual games developer and publisher PopCap Games announced the mobile launch of Bookworm in the U.S. and U.K. Originally launched for web and PC play in 2003, Bookworm was awarded "Puzzle Game of the Year" honors by the magazine Games for Windows. PopCap debuted the game on mobile via Research In Motion's BlackBerry platform earlier this year--the company said it is now available across all major U.S. wireless carriers as well as T-Mobile UK. "Bookworm is very well suited for mobile phones because it can be played in short bursts of a minute or two whenever and wherever the opportunity arises," said PopCap director of mobile business Andrew Stein in a prepared statement. "At the same time, the game also offers a great challenge for marathon word-builders since it's essentially infinite in its replayability."
