QuickPlay debuts Mobile Set-Top Box solution

Mobile video solutions provider QuickPlay Media announced the launch of its Mobile Set-Top Box solution, promising television service providers the tools to extend set-top box capabilities to mobile handsets and consumer electronics devices. According to QuickPlay, Mobile Set-Top Box allows subscribers to access premium programming on-the-go while enabling cable MSOs and IPTV providers to retain control over their content as well as user authentication requirements and business rules--features include digital rights management protection with content expiry, DVR capabilities, geographic and entitlement access control (to ensure content is accessed solely by approved customers within designated regions), multiple network transfer support spanning WiFi, cellular networks and sideloading, multiple viewing options (live TV, video-on-demand and automatic downloading) and cross-device quality assurance.
