Report: A multiplicity of multiplayer gamers
According to a new Nielsen Entertainment report commissioned by Nokia, 80 percent of the worldwide mobile gaming population plays mobile games at least once a week, with 34 percent playing every day. Nokia says the average mobile gaming session spans 28 minutes, with users in India (39 minutes), the U.S. (31 minutes) and Thailand (29 minutes) devoting the largest chunks of time to games. Interestingly, there is scant difference between games played on the move (61 percent) and at home (62 percent), although 56 percent of respondents prefer to game while killing downtime. Gamers cited superior gameplay (83 percent), replayability (79 percent) and genre (78 percent) as the critical factors determining which games they download.
Nokia also cites the increasing popularity of multiplayer gaming, with 45 percent of respondents squaring off against live opponents at least once each month. In India, 56 percent of mobile gamers enter multiplayer competition at least once a week, and 25 percent play every day.

All of the above sounds like Indian's have too much time on their hands ! I can't believe that the average 39 minutes each session for mobile game playing is all "downtime".
But seriously this augurs well for carriers looking to expand their "value added services" in international markets. From what one hears the carriers in India are already laughing their way to the bank, just by the phenomenal growth in basic mobile services alone !
