Report: China carriers' policies won't hurt sector
According to a report from Analysys, Chinese carriers China Mobile and China Unicom's new mobile content policies won't hurt the sector as much as some content companies claim-what's more the regulated environment is "necessary to the mobile value added services (VAS) market" in China and "beneficial to long-term development" since it will drive providers to improve product and service quality. Companies like Linktone, MonsterMob and KongZhong have issued warnings of lower revenues and sales because of the new policies, which include notifying a subscriber of a mobile content subscription even months after signup.
