Report: On-deck mobile content generated $2.8B in 2009
Research firm Frost & Sullivan says the on-deck premium mobile content market is growing despite the proliferation of smartphones. The firm found on-deck mobile downloads generated revenues of $2.82 billion in 2009. The company said the majority of the installed mobile device base uses feature phones and mobile operator portals to access content, but it believes operators will have many opportunities in the future to leverage open smartphone platforms to deliver compelling applications to consumers and enterprises.
