Report: UK networks dominate mobile TV
A Telephia study has found that network TV dominates mobile TV usage in the UK. Having tracked mobile content consumption at the channel, website and content title level, Telephia finds that 33 percent of UK mobile TV viewers watch BBC1, while 29 percent tune into Sky Sports. Interestingly, both networks also scored high on the list of most visited mobile websites as well, with BBC getting 28 percent of all hits and Sky Sports at 23 percent.
"Consumers are tapping into three screens--television, PC and mobile phone--for their news and entertainment," says Telephia analyst Reza Chady. "Broadcasters must develop an integrated strategy across the three screens to reach, maintain and expand their audience."
