Reports: In-Fusio may be poised for comeback
It appears the long, strange trip of In-Fusio is not yet over. According to reports, the company that was facing liquidation will now be restructured into a new entity called IF Europe, which will retain the In-Fusio brand.
However, details remain scarce, and attempts to contact the company have proved fruitless.
According to a statement published by several outlets, In-Fusio Managing Director Sébastien Martin acknowledged the company's troubled position.
"We've struggled to survive in tough conditions. We know that we did not communicate during this period and are sorry for that, but we can assure you that we are still there and expect to be there in a few years," Martin said. "This operation will enable the business to get rid of the legacy and focus on the future, with promising outcomes."
Just a few days ago reports surfaced that the firm was to have its assets liquidated in France, seemingly spelling the end for the mobile games vendor.
In-Fusio was one of the heavy hitters during the early days of the mobile gaming market, but it faced difficulties, including a legal tiff with Microsoft over rights to the video game "Halo" in 2007. Interactive mobile entertainment publisher Zenops acquired In-Fusio in May 2007, and it reported an unspecified amount of funding from French IT expansion fund Occam Capital in 2008.
