RIM debuts new Twitter app for BlackBerry

Research In Motion announced the beta release of Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones, a free application enabling consumers to more effectively manage their microblogging activities on the go. According to RIM, Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones (available for download via BlackBerry App World) allows users to post tweets, reply to tweets and re-tweet comments as well as follow friends and search for topics of interest; in addition, users can receive notifications to alert them of new tweets and direct messages. The app also integrates with the BlackBerry device browser and camera, enabling users to directly post links or upload photos directly to their Twitter accounts.
