RIM introduces BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing app

Tools

Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) unveiled BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing, a free application that converts audio conferencing details into a single "Join Now" button.

Blackberry Mobile Conference

BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing is available to North American users with devices running BlackBerry 5.0 or higher.

Available for download via RIM's BlackBerry App World storefront, BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing leverages the BlackBerry Calendar feature and the user's conference call profile to simplify both joining and organizing calls, with support for most of the leading audio conferencing systems.

BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing includes a pop-up reminder before a call begins--from there, users can activate the one-click "Join Now" button, which dials the conference bridge and enters the appropriate access codes. A "Reconnect" button returns the user to the conference in the event the device drops the call. If multiple dial-in numbers are provided, the application automatically selects an optimal number to use--e.g., the local number if the user is within the local calling area rather than a toll-free number, or a toll- free number if the dial-in number would otherwise be long distance. In addition, users can manually select or modify the dial-in number.

BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing is available now to North American users with devices running BlackBerry 5.0 or higher.
