RIM launches patent infringement suit against IM app Kik
Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Kik Interactive, the Toronto-based startup behind a free instant messaging solution similar to the BlackBerry Messenger service. The suit alleges that Kik founder Ted Livingston, a former RIM employee, had access to confidential information regarding the BBM roadmap and technology, and used that data to his benefit. "The company I shared our entire plan with every step of the way is suing us," Livingston writes on the Kik blog. "I'm not afraid. I'm not surprised. But I am disappointed." Article
