RIM's BlackBerry 10 rumored for Sept. 2012 debut

Tools

Research In Motion reportedly will introduce its BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system overhaul in conjunction with the September 2012 release of the rumored BlackBerry London device. BGR reports RIM is also at work on another BlackBerry 10 smartphone rolling out as part of its Bold series, with a Qwerty slider model on tap for early 2013. The beleaguered device maker announced longtime co-CEOs and co-chairmen Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis would step down; Thorsten Heins, who joined RIM four years ago as COO, will become CEO and director Barbara Stymiest will become chairman. BlackBerry generated just 6 percent of smartphone sales nationwide in the fourth quarter of 2011 according to data published last week by Nielsen. Article
