Rob Gelick appointed to head CBS Mobile

CBS Interactive announced the appointment of Rob Gelick to the position of senior vice president and general manager of its CBS Mobile unit. Gelick, who joined CBS Interactive in 2008 and previously served as vice president of CBS Mobile, will oversee development, production and distribution of all mobile products across CBS Interactive properties including CBS.com, CBSSports.com, GameSpot and TV.com. In addition, he will spearhead mobile efforts for CBS Television Network's core brands including entertainment, sports and news, along with mobile development for The CW and CBS Paramount Television.

Prior to joining CBS Interactive, Gelick co-founded mobile virtual operator Helio, serving as the company's vice president of data services. He previously held the position of director of music with Motorola's Global Entertainment Solutions Group, where he helped negotiate the handset maker's strategic alliance with Apple to bring the iTunes digital music service to mobile devices.
