Rogers Wireless outlines its 'VISION'
Canadian operator Rogers Wireless announced Rogers VISION, a suite of mobile multimedia services including video calling, mobile TV, video-on-demand, radio-on-demand and full-track downloads. The video-on-demand service spotlights a content agreement with YouTube, offering subscribers access to 50 user-generated clips updated on a weekly basis, as well as partners including CNN. The radio-on-demand service features live XM satellite radio, while the Rogers MusicStore boasts content from EMI Music, Universal Music, SonyBMG and Warner Music alongside a number of independent record labels.
The Rogers VISION suite operates via the carrier's new HSDPA network. "Beyond offering video calling, Canadians can now benefit from faster-than-ever download times--perfect for getting music from the Rogers MusicStore, or for watching YouTube clips and TV programming, right on your wireless phone," said Rogers Wireless senior VP and CMO John Boynton in a prepared statement.
