ROK acquires mobile gaming firm Player One
Mobile technology and services firm ROK Entertainment announced its acquisition of mobile gaming company Player One. Financial terms were not disclosed. Player One is best known for a series of sports games compatible with most mobile operating systems, including the iPhone--titles include Freddie Flintoff's Powerplay Cricket, Ronnie O'Sullivan's Snooker, Jensen Button's Grand Prix Racing, Frankie Dettori's Horse Racing and Ernie Els's Golf. Player One has introduced more than 20 new mobile games in the the last 12 months alone, and said it will introduce a range of titles for the Sony PSP handheld device in early 2010. The company also develops and distributes sports-branded wallpapers, ringtones and video clips, and offers live streaming of sports events.
