ROK to get £665M to bring mobile TV to China
China Mobile and ROK have signed a three-year £665 million deal that sees ROK supplying the carrier with the technology it needs to set up its own mobile television service. China Mobile's 350 million subscribers are set to get eight live television channels streaming to their handset with content provided by The Shanghai Media Group, the only content provider allowed to supply China Mobile. Three of the eight channels will be in English and five in Chinese. In order to comply with government censorship rules, the live news channel will run with a 10-second delay.
