Samsung partners with GyPSii on location apps
Geo-location and mobile social networking provider GyPSii announced a multi-year worldwide agreement to provide technology, products, worldwide data center infrastructure and branding rights to handset maker Samsung Electronics. GyPSii's mobility application will be bundled on Samsung's Omnia SGH-i900 and embedded on the SGH-i780, promising consumers access to location-based social networking digital lifestyle features as well as the tools to create and share user-generated content across the GyPSii community as well as interoperable social networks like Facebook. Samsung will market GyPSii-enabled devices across the globe, making the application available in multiple local languages--GyPSii will provide the global infrastructure and operatingplatform to Samsung customers, and the two firms will share resulting revenues.
