Samsung teams with Handmark for mobile game venture fund

Samsung Electronics announced an agreement with mobile media solutions provider Handmark to launch a new venture fund promising investment for game developers with innovative, market- changing ideas optimized for Samsung mobile handsets. Companies or individuals selected for investment will receive $250,000 to fund development of their game concepts. Handmark will manage the fund out of its Kansas City and London offices, and said it is searching for games that best showcase Samsung's device features and functionalities--the fund will give consideration to both new and existing content ideas, taking into consideration cost and timing. Handmark will also provide development, testing and certification assistance to fund recipients, as well as distributing the finished title via the Samsung Application Store. Entries must be submitted here by 5 pm CST Nov, 20.
