Shazam connects with Pandora, Last.fm apps

Mobile music discovery provider Shazam announced it will bolster its Shazam Encore and (Shazam)RED applications for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch with the addition of new features enabling users to connect to personalized radio services Pandora and Last.fm to create their own Internet stations based on tagged music. In addition, the apps will now feature access to tour and ticket information for tagged artists. According to Shazam, tagged songs will display an icon that provides tour dates and schedules for the artist in question--automated geolocation functionality also supplies recommendations for similar acts playing nearby gigs.

The updated versions of Shazam Encore and (Shazam)RED are available in 32 international App Store markets. The Pandora app is currently only available in the U.S., while the Last.fm app is available in the U.S., U.K. and Germany.
