Siano premieres RallyTV in-vehicle broadcast platform

Mobile broadcast solutions provider Siano introduced RallyTV, a new platform for delivering live, in-vehicle digital programming to smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Optimized for operating systems including Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS, Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android and Research In Motion's (NASDAQ:RIMM) BlackBerry, the Wi-Fi-based RallyTV relies on in-vehicle router technology to simultaneously serve large numbers of public transit users on trains and buses as well as smaller groups of users riding in automobiles. Consumers connect their device to the RallyTV wireless network inside the vehicle and open their web browser--the browser is automatically redirected to the RallyTV web application, giving viewers a selection of available mobile DTV channels and other features while enabling them to sidestep network data charges.

Siano will offer the RallyTV system to automotive equipment manufacturers as well as transportation service providers. The firm will promote both in-travel entertainment services as well as a platform for delivering messages and alerts directly to commuters' mobile devices. Siano also will target content providers with value-added services like advertising and video-on-demand options.
