SlingPlayer Mobile launches on BlackBerry

Content placeshifting technology developer Sling Media announced the beta release of its SlingPlayer Mobile solution for select Research In Motion smartphones including the BlackBerry Bold, the BlackBerry Curve and the BlackBerry Pearl. SlingPlayer Mobile enables consumers to view their home television via mobile phones and other Internet-connected devices--in addition, SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry smartphone users can control their home digital video recorder to screen recorded shows as well as pause, rewind and fast-forward live TV or program new recordings while out and about. Sling Media first announced plans to optimize the SlingPlayer software for the BlackBerry platform at last year's Consumer Electronics Show event.
