According to a recent report from M:Metrics, smartphone users are "avid users of mobile multimedia" and are much more likely to download music, games, video and news than their peers. The research firm breaks it down geographically: French smart-phone owners are 11 times more likely to listen to music when compared to the market average of 1.7 percent. American smartphone users are more than eight times more likely listen to music on their handheld. The French smartphone owners also take the cake for mobile video at 15.1 percent, compared to a country-wide average of 1.8 percent. The U.S. smartphone users are more than six times more likely to watch video since the average for video consumption is a paltry 1.3 percent.
