Quora releases its first native app for iOS.

Quora collects questions and responses created, edited and organized by users. The service is continually evolving as users add and refine information, supplying additional insight and context. The free iOS application enables users to read their Quora feed, search and add questions, check notifications and contribute answers and posts--the app also adds Nearby, a new feature that leverages data from Quora's recent topic location feature to enable users to browse topics on a map.

Responding to a question asking about the possibility of a Quora app for Apple's iPad tablet, Quora product designer Anne K. Halsall writes "In building the iPhone app we are also (sort of) building the iPad app. It's true that it will be iPhone-only at first and this is the experience we're focusing on, but nothing precludes us from coming back at a later date to make the app universal and available on both devices. And indeed, as of this writing, that is a likely scenario." Halsall adds that the Quora website is "already fairly usable" on the iPad's Safari browser.
