Sony adds Digital Comics to PSP

Sony Computer Entertainment announced the introduction of the digital reader for PSP, a new service enabling consumers to access a range of media on their PlayStation Portable device. The digital reader service will launch in December when Digital Comics debuts in the U.S. and parts of Europe, with other PAL territories to follow in 2010--partners including Marvel Comics, IDW Publishing and iVerse Media will supply content spotlighting popular characters like Spider-Man, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Transformers and Archie. According to Sony, Digital Comics will offer hundreds of classic and new comics for download, allowing users to pick up new titles from any WiFi hotspot.

Sony adds that the PSP digital reader includes Autoflow, a feature allowing readers to zoom in and move from frame to frame on each page, mimicking the way your eyes move across a print page from left to right. Users may read either page-by-page or frame-by-frame.
