Sony Ericsson intros new Xperia web panels

Tools

Sony Ericsson announced a series of new mobile web panels for its Windows Mobile-based Xperia X1 multimedia convergence phone. The Xperia touchscreen simultaneously features nine different panels promising users shortcuts to personalized applications, services and content--the new panels connect consumers to social networking site Facebook and Microsoft Windows Live. Functions available through the Facebook panel includes visual representation of friends' status updates, efficient upload of photos and access to friends lists and phone numbers, including click-to-call capabilities. The Windows Live panel uses existing Windows Live ID to sync contacts held in the X1's phonebook--the panel also provides access to Microsoft Hotmail and Live Messenger IM as well as Windows Live Search. Other Windows Live services will be incorporated into the panel throughout the year.
