Sony Ericsson outlines 2010 World Cup mobile campaign

Sony Ericsson announced the launch of its Extra Man campaign for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, promising a series of mobile social networking and media sharing tools exclusive to its devices. According to Sony Ericsson--previously named Official Mobile Handset of the 2010 FIFA World Cup--the centerpiece of the Extra Man promotion will be a new soccer-themed application featuring mobile video content from World Cup qualifying matches and friendlies leading up to the international tournament, scheduled to take place next summer between June 11 and July 11. Sony Ericsson also introduced a new website to host World Cup video and information. The handset maker adds it will continue to roll out new mobile and online services in the months ahead.
