Sony Ericsson teams with Billabong for extreme sports experiences
Sony Ericsson and casual clothing manufacturer Billabong are expanding their strategic alliance worldwide, promising to introduce extreme sports experiences across the Xperia smartphone line.

The existing Xperia Active Billabong Edition touts a scratch-resistant display, wet-finger tracking and related features tailored for surfers, snowboarders, wakeboarders and skateboarders. The expanded Sony Ericsson/Billabong alliance brings preloaded Billabong screensavers, videos and Billabong LIVE, a mobile app available via the Sony Ericsson channel in Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android Market. The device maker's Xperia Play also will boast an exclusive surfing game, Billabong Surf Trip. Additional apps are in the pipeline.
Sony Ericsson introduced the PlayStation-certified Xperia Play in April 2011, rolling out more than 60 games optimized expressly for the device. The Xperia Play features a 4-inch screen, slide-out gaming controls with a directional pad and Sony PlayStation buttons, and a 1 GHz processor.
