Sony Pictures offers $232 million for 2waytraffic

Tools

Sony Pictures Entertainment announced a $232 million cash offer to acquire Dutch firm 2waytraffic, which creates, produces, licenses and distributes interactive entertainment content across television, mobile and digital platforms. Highlighted by the popular quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, the 2waytraffic portfolio also includes brands like You Are What You Eat, Take It or Leave It, Brainiest and That's the Question; in addition, its interactive mobile solutions include Ringtone Top 20 and Textworld. If consummated, the deal promises to enhance Sony Pictures' global presence in the so-called "light entertainment" market, which includes game shows, reality programming, variety showcases, quiz programs and related competitions. 2waytraffic's board has already recommended that shareholders accept Sony Pictures' offer.
