Sony in talks to sell PlayStation games on more mobile devices

Sony is in talks with several phone and tablet manufacturers in an effort to bring its PlayStation games to more mobile devices. Kazuo Hirai, Sony's executive deputy president, said the company is "in discussions" to expand its PlayStation Suite to Android-enabled devices not made by Sony or its affiliates. "(Smartphone games) have had an impact on the traditional videogame market," said Hirai at the Asia D conference. Tablets and phones must meet certain hardware specifications, set by Sony, in order to be compatible with the PlayStation application. Sony Ericsson currently sells its Xperia Play phone, which supports PlayStation games. Article (sub. req.)
