Rap pioneer and Public Enemy founder Chuck D told attendees of Mobile Content World in London that DRM can play a role in digital content distribution--but only if it doesn't restrict users from accessing music freely. It's a point that's been raised repeatedly--that the best DRM is the DRM you don't know you have. Of course, coming from an artist who stands to gain from the sale of his music helps drive it home. If anything, Chuck D said, the hackers at work breaking today's clunky DRM may help drive the development of more elegant solutions in the future. Article
