July Systems announced today that the USPTO has issued it a patent for mobile content and apps digital rights management (DRM). The patent specifically covers July's ability to "effectively manage and safeguard digital rights of retailer content while allowing retailers to apply different pricing and merchandising models including try-before-you-buy, subscription, rental, pay-per-use, and advertising-sponsored purchase, as well as community building features such as gifting and referrals."
