Sprint expands music services
Sprint has added Sprint Radio to its suite of streaming audio offerings today, featuring 50-plus channels of both audio and video streams, including music, music videos, news, weather sports and so on. mSpot is powering the service on the back end. It will cost $6 a month and is available only on select Sprint Media Player phones.
Additionally, Sprint has added a recommendation feature to its Sprint Music Store, which will list songs and artists subscribers may be interested in based on their song purchase history. Hopefully these will be real recommendations and not sponsored ads by the labels intended to push their latest act.
Finally, through Nov. 15 Sprint is offering a free full song download for every two songs purchased via the Sprint Music Store, making the $2.50 a track cost worthwhile, but not quite.
