Sprint introduces eco-friendly Green ID app pack
Sprint (NYSE:S) continues to expand its ID app bundle program, unveiling the eco-themed Green ID pack for select Android devices. The Green ID pack automatically loads applications, widgets and shortcuts from content partners including TreeHugger.com, Earth911.com, Green America and the National Audubon Society, spotlighting subjects like local recycling and disposal resources, carbon footprints, sustainable products and volunteerism.
The Green ID pack is free to download with Sprint's Everything Data plan across devices including the LG Optimus S, Samsung Epic 4G and Samsung Galaxy Tab--the Samsung Replenish, the operator's latest eco-friendly device, will also offer the pack when it hits retail on May 8.
The Sprint ID effort first launched in October 2010. Each ID pack assembles applications, widgets, ringtones, wallpapers and related mobile content, all tied together under the umbrella of a specific brand or theme. More than a dozen consumer lifestyle ID packs are now available, among them Home Base, Health & Fitness, Fashion & Beauty, Socially Connected, Business Pro and Entertainment, as well as branded packs from MTV, ESPN, Yahoo and HSN. Subscribers can download up to five Sprint ID packs to their phone or tablet.
