Sprint launches mobile TV production division
Forget about licensing content, Sprint is taking a page out of the MVNO book and capturing its own custom content for its Power Vision service. The carrier's new Power View service will offer about 25 minutes a day of short, made-for-mobile video clips that is it collecting via a content deal with IMG Media. Initially focusing on celebrity news and sports, the service features such early "anchors" as Jim Brown and Jim Courier. And as a refreshing change, Sprint is bundling access to the service with its basic Power Vision plans. Makes you think about how expensive it must be to actually license content from others.
