Sprint Nextel joins MediaFLO cabal

Trials are underway at Sprint Nextel for Qualcomm's MediaFLO mobile TV service, the company confirmed yesterday. The operator will brand the service as Vue. Sprint Nextel currently offers mobile TV services with partner MobiTV. No word yet on how or even if the company's partnerships will change once Vue goes live.

In other MediaFlo news, Verizon Wireless says it will make its MediaFLO-based mobile TV service live in select markets by the first quarter of next year. Verizon first began testing the technology in 2005.
