Sprint offers MLB live broadcasts
Streaming audio of live events is becoming a bona fide trend. Just a week after Cingular announced the ability to stream live Rolling Stones concerts, Sprint is in the game with Major League Baseball. For a $6 monthly subscription fee, Sprint customers can listen to the full radio broadcast of any MLB game, choosing which team's radio feed for access. It requires a PowerVision phone and service.
These audio plays could be a nice precursor to building demand for video, if they prove successful. But at $6 a month, it again seems steep. Perhaps an on-demand option would help ease users into it.
