Sprint premieres ESPN Mobile TV
Sprint and sports media giant ESPN announced the introduction of ESPN Mobile TV, promising subscribers access to
more than 800 live professional and collegiate events over the year to come. ESPN Mobile TV's 24/7 coverage is highlighted by 15 regular season National Basketball Association matchups and nine playoff tilts, as well as 10 regular season Major League Baseball broadcasts and 50 Baseball Tonight studio shows. The mobile channel will also feature 19 Women's NCAA Basketball Championship games, three Friday Nights Fights broadcasts and five Major League Soccer matches. The 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament, Grand Slam tennis and college football will join the programming slate in the months ahead.
ESPN Mobile TV is included as part of the Sprint TV package, available at no additional charge to Sprint's Everything Data subscribers. The service is available across the majority of the carrier's device lineup, including the HTC Hero, Samsung Moment, Samsung Instinct, Palm Pre and Blackberry Curve. The launch of ESPN Mobile TV follows just days after Sprint ceded its exclusive National Football League partnership to rival Verizon Wireless.
