Sprint reaches 1.5M OTA music downloads

Sprint's OTA music download service just clocked its 1.5 millionth download only a few weeks after the carrier reported its 1 millionth OTA download on February 15. This is an incredible rate of growth for the service. Analysts say about 40 percent of the total number is from promotional giveaways, which really takes the wind out of any PR blitz the carrier may be planning. In any case, the current weekly download rate is up to 250,000, which could be qualified by a recent Super Bowl XL advertising campaign.
