Start-up Appifier turns Wordpress blogs into mobile apps
Appifier, a Montreal-based mobile app development company, has exited beta. The company has a unique take on the app development process and quickly converts Wordpress blogs into functioning mobile apps. The finished product, which is completed in about a minute, can send push notifications, give users offline access to content, aggregates analytics data and includes social media sharing. Users can also monetize apps by charging upfront for the app or incorporating ads through AdMob or Google AdSense.

Currently there are already apps on the market that convert Wordpress-powered blogs into mobile-optimized websites, such as WPTouch, but the concept of simplifying app creation for businesses as well as consumers is new.
While the majority of Wordpress users are consumers, several larger companies including People, Mozilla and Sony Playstation all run Wordpress-powered sites.
Appifier charges $39.99 a month or $499.99 for life, which includes submitting the app to Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) App Store, considerably cheaper than most other mobile app development companies. The company does not take a cut of app advertising revenue or other app fees.
Appifier currently only constructs apps for iPhone.
