According to a recent study conducted by IDC, mobile operators will have to embrace mobile advertising, and it will become a key initiative in their business strategies moving forward. You know the story: As voice revenues fall, operators have been trying to offset it with data, but data plan uptake has been slow. Mobile advertising can help fill the gap and make up for that lag, and it will become a more integral revenue stream once data plans really do take off. The problem now is determining the best way to introduce advertising on handsets.
