AT&T adds Yahoo oneSearch

Tools

AT&T announced an agreement with Yahoo to integrate the web services giant's oneSearch mobile search solution into its MEdia Net portal, positioning the Yahoo service as its on-deck default search engine. oneSearch promises AT&T subscribers access to news, financial updates, weather conditions and related web content, delivering results intuitively grouped around the user's query intent--e.g., a user searching for a sports team will receive scores, schedules, player updates and a link to the franchise's website. oneSearch will also display relevant ringtones, wallpapers, games and other MEdia Mall content within search results. Earlier this year, AT&T and Yahoo announced a multi-year deal to create new ad-based revenue opportunities via mobile handsets and PCs.
