AT&T expands Napster Mobile
AT&T and digital music service provider Napster announced the Napster Mobile music download service is now available to more than 13 million of the operator's subscribers, expanding across more than 25 handsets including the BlackBerry Bold, AT&T Quickfire, Pantech Matrix and Samsung Propel. According to AT&T, the expansion is a direct result of major record labels' less restrictive digital rights management requirements as well as Napster's adoption of more flexible technology.
Napster Mobile--first launched by AT&T a year ago--enables fans to search, browse and download music to their handsets from a catalog spanning more than 6 million songs. AT&T charges subscribers $1.99 per track, which includes a copy automatically delivered to their PC. A $7.49 monthly subscription option includes five song downloads per month.
