T-Mobile looks to strike chord with Fender phone
T-Mobile USA will release a limited edition version of its myTouch Android smartphone inspired by venerable
guitar manufacturer Fender. Expected to ship later this year, the myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition boasts a guitar-inspired woodgrain finish and exclusive preloaded video and audio clips spotlighting a host of iconic musicians. In addition, the device promises to further expand the multimedia experience via pre-installed 16GB microSD card, a 3.5mm headset jack access to more than 10,000 applications via the Android Market virtual storefront. T-Mobile USA originally debuted the myTouch in August--the operator's second Android smartphone, it features a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen display, video playback and a 3.2-megapixel camera as well as WiFi capabilities.
Founded in 1946, Fender is famed for electric guitars including the Stratocaster and Telecaster. Other instruments include the Jazz Bass and the Fender Rhodes electric piano.
