T-Mobile: Most G1 users download new Android app each week

Tools

T-Mobile USA subscribers who have purchased HTC's G1, the first commercial handset based on Google's Android mobile OS, average 50 times the data usage of the average voice-centric wireless consumer, the operator reports. Roughly 80 percent of G1 users browse the mobile web on a daily basis, and the majority access Facebook and YouTube at least once per week. In addition, half access WiFi daily. T-Mobile notes the average G1 user has downloaded more than 40 applications from the Android Market virtual storefront, adding that four out of five subscribers download at least one new Android app each week.
