T-Mobile UK inks advertising deal with Yahoo

Tools

T-Mobile UK announced the launch of its first graphical advertising service, inking a deal with Yahoo to deliver targeted messages to subscribers via the operator's Web'n'walk mobile web platform. Yahoo will exclusively sell and serve advertising for T-Mobile, and will roll out the first Web'n'walk interactive banner ads in the first half of 2008. Yahoo signed a similar agreement with T-Mobile rival Vodafone in late 2006. "With conventional mobile marketing tools limiting the levels of interaction, banner advertising through the Internet on your mobile creates many opportunities for potential advertisers to adopt innovative marketing campaigns," said T-Mobile director of marketing Phil Chapman in a prepared statement.
