T-Mobile USA kicks off 4G PayDay SMS trivia challenge
T-Mobile USA launched 4G PayDay, a free, SMS-based trivia game giving subscribers the chance to win $4,000 (i.e., "$4Gs") each day. Offering multiple-choice questions in categories including pop culture, sports, science and history, 4G PayDay challenges T-Mobile subscribers to correctly answer the most consecutive questions within an hour; games end on an incorrect answer or when the hour draws to a close.
The player with the longest consecutive answer streak in one game each day wins $4,000. In addition, T-Mobile will award an Audi Q5 each week to the player with the most consecutive correct answers in a single game.
T-Mobile customers can text START to 4444 to sign up and review the game rules. Players can participate in up to three 4G PayDay games each day. If gamers get stuck on a question, they can select a hint to help narrow down the possibilities or move on to the next question. Both options are limited to three per game and cost $1.00 each plus tax.
The 4G PayDay game is the second notable T-Mobile USA service launch in recent weeks. Earlier this month, the operator introduced More for Me, a free Android-powered app that aggregates daily deals from sites such as LivingSocial and delivers them to users. T-Mobile executives said that More for Me is just the first step in a bigger mobile advertising push from the operator that will include an opt-in marketing program to debut later this summer.
