T-Mobile USA launches Android emulator

With the HTC-produced G1--the first commercial handset based on Google's Android mobile OS--scheduled to hit retail Oct. 22, T-Mobile USA has introduced a G1 emulator on its website, enabling consumers to virtually sample the device's user interface. Prospective Android users may trial notifications for text messages or incoming calls, play around with the menu and add shortcuts to the desktop--additional demos spotlight battery life and memory card insertion, as well as a complete rotating look at the Google-branded device.
