AT&T Music app combines downloads, streaming radio
AT&T announced the introduction of AT&T Music, a new mobile broadband application integrating song and album downloads, streaming radio, song match, lyric search and an enhanced media player. According to AT&T, the app includes 40 commercial-free, genre-specific radio stations alongside customizable personal stations; in addition to previewing and purchasing music directly from their handsets, AT&T subscribers can also create and manage playlists, search for tracks according to lyrics and access artist bios.
AT&T Music--which launches on the LG Xenon, Samsung Solstice and Samsung Impression--is available for $6.99 per month to subscribers on unlimited data plans; song and album purchased are billed a la carte. Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Music and indie music distributor The Orchard are among the initial content partners, with additional deals slated to follow.
