AT&T teams with Tiger Woods, NCAA baseball
AT&T announced an agreement with Tiger Woods to offer subscribers exclusive video content from a private golf clinic led by the PGA superstar during his recent Tiger Jam XII charitable event. According to AT&T, it will provide access to the behind-the-scenes footage for free via its AT&T U-verse TV On Demand library and the AT&T FanZone web portal--in addition, AT&T mobile subscribers will enjoy exclusive golf tips from Woods, who will vie for his 15th career major championship victory next weekend during the 2009 U.S. Open.
In related news, AT&T announced an agreement with the 2009 NCAA Men's College World Series to introduce a text alerts program available to consumers regardless of their mobile operator affiliation. Fans who attend the College World Series in Omaha will be encouraged to sign up for CWS alerts on their handsets or online at the NCAA website--AT&T will transmit daily text messages with ticket release specials, AT&T autograph appearance schedules, and final game/advancement notices. Other AT&T-sponsored events taking place in conjunction with the series include the AT&T Navigator Competition, which requires competitors to race through Omaha with the aid of the carrier's best-selling navigation app, and the Mobile TV Live Bar, which connects mobile devices to free game broadcasts and related content.
