Teleca acquires mobile web solutions firm SurfKitchen

Mobile device solutions and services supplier Teleca has acquired mobile platform provider SurfKitchen. Financial terms were not disclosed. SurfKitchen's platform delivers personalized discoverability, usability and fulfillment solutions for mobile web applications and services--the firm's technology spans operating systems like Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian. Carrier partners include T-Mobile USA, Cincinnati Bell, Orange Group, Telstra and Telefonica Moviles Espana. SurfKitchen will remain an independent business unit under the Teleca umbrella, focusing on business development, sales and product R&D.

Teleca's software services include a mobile applications delivery unit created in 2009. The company said the SurfKitchen acquisition will enable the company to offer its operator partners complete end-to-end apps solutions alongside full content and subscriber management services.
