Ten million iPhone App Store downloads in first weekend
Despite myriad problems with Apple's iTunes activation server, the iPhone 3G's opening weekend looks like a success--the computing giant announced more than a million devices sold within the first three days of release, with iPhone and iPod users also downloading more than 10 million applications from the fledgling App Store, which debuted Thursday. According to Apple, there are now more than 800 native iPhone applications available via the App Store, with 200 of them offered free of charge.

10 million downloads -- but of what? I've downloaded about 20 apps and was totally not impressed. Most of them are gone from my iPhone now. Curious to see how that download traffic is going to do in the next few weeks after iPhone users realize the poor value of most of these apps.
10 million to me mean 10M*X, where X represents the number of visit to the site and also mean awareness. If Apple will not sell anyone iPhone past the 1million in the 1st three days, then sure, this will die out.
Sounds to me like sour grapes. :-)
